NC native J. Cole on tour in Germany

Embodying the German Carolina connection, the Tar Heel state’s very own J. Cole is coming back to perform in Germany this fall.

The Frankfurt-born, Fayetteville-bred rapper is on tour with his latest album “Born Sinner”. He’s coming to several cities all over the country, including Stuttgart, Hamburg, Berlin and Frankfurt – the city where he was born on a US army base. Cole moved to Carolina at a very young age and even though he went on to study at St. John’s University in New York City, he is often referring to his childhood in Carolina in his lyrics.

And he’s leaving no question where he would’ve ended up, had he stayed in his home state for school: “I thought I was going To Carolina (…)/ I could’ve sworn I was gonna be a Tar Heel (…) / Dean Smith (…), you know”.

Above, check out a short clip of J. Cole’s performance in C-Club in Berlin from 2011: “Rise and Shine”, off “Cole World: The Sideline Story”.
